A cluttered space = mental clutter — and the direct link between our physical surroundings and our mental well-being is 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐓𝗪𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃.⁣

⁣
Yesterday we talked about structuring your day with Time Blocking and Batching will now take that a step further. Ever notice how much time you waste switching between different types of tasks? One minute you’re answering emails, the next you’re working on a presentation, then back to emails again. 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐓𝐘!!🤦‍♀️ This constant task-switching though is a major productivity killer. And, this is where batching will help.⁣
⁣
Batching is 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤. Like creating an assembly line to improve your efficiency & reduce wasted time.⁣
⁣
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬:⁣
Instead of checking email every time a new message arrives, designate specific time blocks for email processing, maybe once in the morning and once in the afternoon. During those designated times, focus solely on emails. Respond to them, file them, delete them. The same principle applies to other tasks. If you have a bunch of errands to run, try to group them together & schedule a time block for them. If you have several phone calls to make, schedule a time block to get them done.

𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸 & 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 & 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺.⁣

⁣
If you’ve been following along, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 and congrats on taking steps toward a more organized life! Small changes add up, and I love hearing how these strategies are helping you simplify your days. If you’re just joining in - 𝗪𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞! Be sure to check out previous strategies as they’re packed with helpful tips to equally set you up for success.⁣
⁣
Let’s jump into 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐆𝐘 #𝟓: 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⁣
⁣
Ever feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day? You’re not alone! Instead of trying to power through with longer hours and more effort, the key is to work smarter, not harder. And, that’s where 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 comes in!⁣
⁣
Time blocking is a simple yet powerful technique that helps you take control of your schedule by assigning specific time slots to tasks - like setting appointments with yourself to focus on what truly matters. Instead of tackling a never-ending to-do list, you create structure, improve focus, and reduce overwhelm.⁣
⁣
🔹 Example: Instead of writing “Work on report” on your to-do list, 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝟐 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 in your calendar specifically for “Report Writing.” Have a meeting? 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 and include prep time if needed. Don’t forget to 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 to stay realistic and avoid burnout!⁣
⁣
Time blocking keeps distractions at bay, curbs procrastination, and helps ensure you’re spending time intentionally — like having a personal assistant to keep you on track. Once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it!🤯
⁣
✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭? Start small and tweak as needed to fit your routine. If you’re already using this technique, drop your best tips in the comments as you never know who you might inspire!⁣

🌿✨"𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 🌿✨"𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮!” – 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 #𝟒 is here:

𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆

Our digital lives can be just as (or more) cluttered as our physical spaces! Overflowing email inboxes, messy computer files, disorganized photos... Ugh! 😫 𝐁𝐔𝐓, there is a solution and it’s as easy as 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝:

• 𝐄𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥: Create folders (work, personal, bills) and move emails into them. Unsubscribe from newsletters you don’t read.

• 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬: Use a clear naming structure with descriptive titles for files, folders and documents.

• 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬: Organize by date, event, or person. Consider using a digital frame (like @auraframes) to enjoy your photos on.

• 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩𝐬: Regularly back up files to prevent data loss and keep your important information safe and accessible.

A well-organized digital life saves time, reduces frustration, and gives you peace of mind knowing your important information is always within reach.🙏🏼

💡𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Set a monthly reminder for a quick digital declutter; delete unused files, clear out old emails, and organize your photos. It’s an easy habit that keeps things organized and stress-free!

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞? Start now! And if you already use tools to help keep your digital footprint neat and orderly, please share in the comments as it could help someone else!

⏰Don't forget to 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 @organizedinspiration & 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 so you don’t miss any of the “𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” series! There's lots more to come!

Until next time,
